Do you have a small child in your life, who cannot calm down for that midday nap or for bedtime? I highly recommend Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker and illustrated by Tom Lightenheld for you and your child.
This is a picture book. The story is told in rhyme. The illustrations contain pictures of five different construction trucks going to bed after a long day of work. This is a very calming bedtime or naptime story.
The three-year-old child, whom I read to, have requested this book read to him several times since I borrowed it from the library. It probably helps if the child you are reading to has a habit of watching cartoons with talking cars and trucks or plays with toy cars and trucks. Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site has been very effective in calming him down for naptime. Maybe this book will work for your child as well.
